If you were at CES 2013, you might have met Hind Hobeika, a young GIST transformer from Lebanon, who was there to showcase her innovation – Instabeat. Her product drew a lot of attention, featured in a number of publications, such as the Huffington Post, Xconomy, Tech Cocktail, Wired UK.
Ever since she was a child, Hind was always an active athlete and curious about her own physical health and wellness. As a collegiate swimmer, she realized how difficult it could be to accurately determine one’s heart-rate while in the water, so she turned her heart-rate monitoring goggles from an idea to an actual prototype. Hind’s product, Instabeat, is a heart rate monitor which can be mounted on any type of swimming goggles to seamlessly measure a swimmer’s heart rate and give real-time visual feedback.
Hind is part of the GIST Transformer family, a group of talented young entrepreneurs, that were selected by participating in GIST competition, who are working on developing products that help make the world a better place.
